This episode proved to me that keeping the faith with the show was so the right thing to do :)

There have been episodes this season I liked and some I disliked but this episode felt like moving back towards the SPN I <3 Castiel was great, loved his snark with Dean, it reignited my Dean/Castiel love. Dean once he figured out what was wrong with Sam just slipped back into big brother role and I loved his face when Sam came back and Jared played soulless Sam to perfection, last week I was unhappy about the no soul aspect, but this week it worked, totally, completely worked.

I loved the Alpha vamp, he totally worked and also the Plato reference was FTW!!!! Show How I ♥ you

I love Crowley being the big bad, and the purgatory angle is a new step and one that intrigues me, my theory is Grandpa Campbell is looking for either his wife or his daughter, have we had any affirmation that Mary or Deanna made heaven? I know Mary was a ghost for a while.

I like that they are working tandem again and that they are being honest again, I commented to hubby that as soon as Dean realised what the problem was and as soon as Sam had admitted there was a problem they sort of worked again, like everything was before, Robert said it because they are being truthful with each other again, and if that is the case, long may truth reign. Also loved that Dean pointed out that Grandpa Campbell is not Dad, I have been waiting for that comment.

Oh and a final note, Sammy pulling the gun, was way hotter than it should be :P

I am now bouncy about next weeks episode even though i have no idea what it is about :D

So what was everyone else's thoughts and reactions?

Also to further the convo hubby and I had, is Sam still Sammy? how much of us is made up of our souls and how much shared memories??

I think that Sam is still Sammy, but he lacks the emotions that are essential to his personality. This episode was everything that I wanted it to be and more. Also, good on Cas for reminding Dean that he's in the middle of a CIVIL WAR. IN HEAVEN. WITH ANGELS. MULTIPLE ANGELS. TRYING TO KILL HIM.

I really liked the episode, but I don´t think Sam is Sammy. It´s more than lack of the soul, he´s up to something..not sure if he is Lucifer or a part of him but he´s definitely not Sammy...smirking when Dean was about to be turned into a vampire? What if Lucifer is looking for the purgatory too?
Cas is so much fun. I chuckle every time him and Dean have a dialogue.
And granpa is looking for his daughter, too bad Christian (Parker Lewis why did you have to go?! damn Crowley) caught Dean before we could see the picture.

I was a little disappointed that it was Sammy with no Soul, I was still hoping for Lucifer but after Cas's remark about how he would know if Sam were just a vessel again, I was hoping for human!Lucifer or something. But I am glad we have an explanation.

I am also glad that Christian was possessed because that's okay to know that most of his dickishness was probably the demon. I hated seeing Jonas so mean. Corin Nemec is great though. I loved Cas's sarcasm, he's so cute!

I really loved the Alpha Vamp (My brother got annoyed that I kept calling him daddy vamp so we named him Alfie instead) but I just KNOW I've seen him in something before, can't remember what though, google time I suppose but he was great!

It's weird because I didn't really love this episode. I didn't hate it either but it was just sort of blah to me. I don't know. Show doesn't seem to be affecting me like it used to. It's like nothing is surprising me anymore. I don't know if it's the writing or just that my feelings toward Show have changed but there's none of the suspense and shock that I'm used to. It makes me sad because I want to be affected again! I want to gasp and laugh and cry at the appropriate moments but it's just not happening.

Though having said that, when Dean got turned, that was one of those moments, the only thing so far this season that made me gape and flail.

That was SUPER hot. But you know what was even hotter? Dean stopping him and Sam JUST OBEYING. Strong!obedient!soulless!Sam was apparently a hidden kink of mine.
