New Job, Geography and 3D Jensen

A longer than average post, but I haven’t posted in days so catching up :)

Started my new job yesterday, which seemed to be going well.  Until Geography was brought into the equation.

Now I am fairly intelligent, I am an Excel whiz, can bend most computer programmes, backwards around my little finger, I am hard working, organised and dedicated, and I'm really good at English and Maths, but Geography!!!!

Geography is my nemesis, it was the blight of my school years, it followed me around like a really mean kid, laughing at me, every time I tried to figure out what the capital of (I don’t know) Spain is for example, and in all seriousness, I don’t know, seriously, I could not name one capital city, except London and Edinburgh.

I am the Bridget Jones of geography, ask me what country sits next to Germany, then laugh as I go red and stutter something about Switzerland.

Now this has never been a problem, because as I never became an explorer or a map maker, I never had much need for geography, so most people never find out about the fact that I am a total dunce whenever it comes to geography (except my husband who can still be counted on to laugh for close to an hour every time he is reminded of the fact that I once asked him which US states are in South America, and which are in North America) Yes I really did !!!!

So why has geography become an issue!!!! because the company I have went to work for is a ship management company, who manage ships worldwide, they want me to learn things like how to price the management of a bulk carrier, sailing with a west indies crew and leaving from port who knows where and travelling mainly through the pacific ocean.  Now whilst they were very patient and gave me extremely understanding smiles every time I asked a shipping question methinks their patience might run out if I ask where specifically the pacific is again – No I am really not kidding, I suck, I have a mental block the size of the pacific when it comes to geography (ETA – I now know this much about the pacific
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Ocean ) I really need to invest in a good map.

On the up side, job is very interesting, learning lots of new things, my office is gorg, with a wonderful view of Glasgow and the hills from my floor to ceiling window (Yay, seriously, one wall of my office is window!!!!!) the people are lovely and so far things are going great.

Now onto My Bloody Valentine (under LJ cut as I don’t want to spoil anyone, although there is nothing spoilery about the actual film in my post thought it better to be safe than sorry)

A prize of your asking for anyone who can tell me how many times I mentioned geography and 3D Jensen in this post J

Ok first thought, 3D Jensen!!!!!!! 20ft tall 3D Jensen!!!! The guy who came up with this idea is a freaking genius!!! And rather than the large size detracting from the pretty, it actually made him more gorgeous, there is a scene where he crouches on a hill and seriously, it’s almost like you can reach out and touch him (not that I tried it or anything!!!)

Second thought, he was just SO Dean like in this film, now I don’t know if that is because Dean is permeated into my subconscious now, as I saw JA in both Smallville and DA and have watched them since and see very little Dean in him, but in this, it was like fanfic, Dean on a hunt without Sam or the Impala

Third thought – Too Much Gore!!!!!!!, yes I know it’s a horror but 3D gore is just Bleughh I know, I know I went to see it, knowing it was 3D and knowing it was a horror and knowing it was going to be gory, but seriously, those with weak stomachs!! Avoid this film it is really, really gory

Final thought, I wanted to love this film.  I really did, when I become obsessed with something I want everything about it/them to be outstanding and I am definitely obsessed with JA, but the film, well thank god it has 3D Jensen , thank god Jensen is in it period, because overall, it was pretty average, average script, average actors, more than average gore.  Would I see it again though??? Of course, it has 3D Jensen.

you know, getting into a first rate and first choice university, does not allow you to forget fic writing *for shame* :P

ok, so we have agreed to shirtless and / or tortured.

methinks I may be becoming a tad Dean/Castiel obsessed :D

Lol, it's busy work getting set up for university!!! D8

But whenever I feel too stressed I take a moment to picture shirtless and tortured Castiel or Dean, and suddenly everything is shinier!

I've got one fic still on the go, my Dean/Castiel anonymous fic exchange piece, but I'm pushing dangerously close to the submission deadline. At least I know what I want to write, now it's just a question of finding the time to write it!

Eeeep, I know, mines is in two parts just now, part one has just been received back from the Beta and I have tons of work to do on it, dont know how she puts up with me :) and part 2 is still to go to beta, sitting close to 8,000 words now eeep :)

Even better shirtless tortured Dean AND Castiel, double the yumminess, twice the stress reliever :D

How's the uni plans going?

Heh, I suspect this is going to go like my old coursework deadlines at high school, I'll end up cranking out the entire fic at 2am the day before it's due *headdesk*

I'm saving Dean AND Castiel for when things get really crazy, when I'm trying to organise the actual moving part of moving out.

But it's going pretty well so far, I'm choosing my courses at the moment and arranging to view some houses for potential accommodation. I've got to get my student id card and open my online account, but so long as I get accommodation sometime in the next three weeks it should all be fine.
