EEEEE Supernatural is getting Renewed :)

I am so happy :D

Ok, I'm looking for some help from my flist I have room for 105 icons and have 15 :)

Where can I find good Supernatural, Buffy, T:SCC, Harry Potter icons, and what is the protocol regardng using icons i.e. how do you credit etc.

It's easy to credit you just post the icon maker's LJ username in the comment section of the icon when you load it.

As for finding icons the way I find most of mine is to go to the Home section in the top left corner of the page; next to Journal, Profile, Friends etc. Once on the Home page scroll down till you hit the Explore section and type in things like Supernatural icons, and it'll bring up a list of comms so hopefully you'll find what you want.

That's just how I do it, I dunno if there is an easier way.

forsquares for SPN icons. *wink* That's where I get alot of mine.

Usually an icon comm will give instructions that say whether it's okay to snag and how or who to credit. Under the comment section you just put the the LJ user name html just like you do when posting an entry.

right, got it, and what's hotlinking? a lot of them say no hotlinking so would like to make sure that I dont do that :D

As far as I know...Hotlinking is when you take icons or other art works from one website such as LJ and directly link them on another site.

I used to have 15, then I upgraded to a paid account and now it lets me have 105 :) I think you get even more if you have a perm account :D

Go here: http://ctbn60.livejournal.com/119869.html and squee. I asked her to make me a couple of Dean/Castiel icons and boy did she come through. They are all so awesome and pretty. I just downloaded like 10 of them. Now I don't have to feel weird when I leave feedback in this fandom. The last one of the bunch makes a pretty good Jensen/Misha icon too, if you read RPS.

I used one of them here *points to icon* Isn't it pretty. She personalized a few for me, but most aren't. Enjoy.

robbinrob's icons) This is the top, icons don't get better than this! Wincest, Winchesters, SPN in general a LOT of J2 and a lot of animations. Very few Misha/Castiel ones.

kansas_icons a good mix of everything. Good Misha or Castiel ones *g*

nodazzle has some amazing Castiel ones and Dean/Castiel.

For really snarky and hilarious Harry Potter icons try

I have 2 episodes to watch this Thu (hubby wanted to watch with me) so will be caught up before the next episode, ooo and then I can have dollhouse icons Yay!!!!!

Dollhouse icons are a big source of yay for me right now :D I've already joined in on loads of icontests, and revvying up my own, but kinda sad that I'll be behind on the eps. I've only been able to see the first half of the second ep, and then it failed.

Meanwhile I'm tortured with the dilemma of what I can delete of my old icons, but I think I'm already towing the line. I want MOAR, dammit!

And yeah, totally at my limit. Can you believe I bought a permanent accound purely pased on the icons? I calculated, and I'd be spending about 2kr per icon(1£ for 5), and it was a one time fee, so it was worth it to me. Ah, the days of yore when I sneered at the very prospect of paying to be using this place *wistful*

Now, icons.

I don't often go looking for icons. I occasionally click if I see an icon post in the comms I'm watching, but as a general rule, I just wait until I spot a good one and then ask the person who used it if I can snag it! =D

Then copy-paste the icon (or if it's animated, right click, select properties and it'll give you the link) and load it into your own paint or whatever program you use, and upload it to photobucket or tinypic or LJ or wherever you usually host photos. Credit by putting in the comments box for the icon: "made by <*lj user=[name]*>" and remove the asterisks to make the HTML work.

Also, feel free to browse your friends icons and ask if you can snag any you like!

YAY, now all we need is confirmation of Misha's regular status and we're golden. If it is not coming soon, we may have to move up the timescale on our ~~torture/whump/kidnap~~ genetle persuasion

I'm about to do an icon overhaul, so let me know if you find any real nifty ones. I like having an even mix of my own icons and other people's icons. :3
