Awww, sweetie, my heart broke for you when I read about your rings. And although I know it's hard--so very hard--to lose those items, what is breaking my heart for you is that fact that it's someone you know and trust into your home. That's the real tragedy.

By the way, Mr. McAvoy is my sweetest of sweethearts (running the closest of second to Ewan McGregor, who takes the highest of awards for my heart, however!). I do love all things Scottish, you know! <3

I didn't think I could love James anymore than I already do, until I saw this quote he gave when interviewed about the "X-men" film:

For the record, McAvoy would have preferred it if Xavier and Magneto stayed together. Like, really together. "It is a little bit of a mini-tragedy that him and Magneto don't, you know, have sex and become married and become best friends."

Don't you just ADORE this man even more now???
*draws hearts and flowers around his beautiful face*

I have adored McAvoy since Shameless so even if I wasn't already a massive massive Erik/Charles shipper I would have still seen the movie and been won over by the pretty pretty slash :D

did you join the comm honey? I've even started writing fic yayayaya (although don't worry BJ is still up there I've just started plotting out what I hope will be an awesome spies AU)

and thanks for the kind thoughts hon *HUGS*

[identity profile] snapegirlusa.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
I looooooooved Shameless!!! That was one of my crazy British shows that my husband actually enjoyed watching with me! Soooo very brilliantly written and acted. Although I stopped watching after James and AnnMarie left the series (and to think, I started watching for Kev since he played Shakespeare in a Doctor Who episode!!) ;)

But, I don't think I can join that comm. Unfortunately, I've never even seen more than five minutes of X-men footage *hides face in shame* I have NO idea why since I've been the biggest SciFi geek since I was itty bitty. I think it just came out when I was busy with raising three kids or something like that. LOL This is the first one I would make an effort to see and that's only for the amazing Mr. McAvoy. So who knows?

And yes... I'm begging you... PLEASE don't let this new obsession pour water all over your B/J (and esp. your G/R) fics!!! I would have to mourn the loss, my dear. <3

I'm not disappointed in you, I fully get why you would see some Charles/Eric. I just want the movie to go jump in a lake :p

[identity profile] mrstotten.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
lol THAT bad?? :)

But you have to admit the Charles/Erik was v v good :)
goodbyebird: Haley from the movie "Hard Candy", and she is not pleased. (ⓕ now it's time to wake up)

[personal profile] goodbyebird 2011-06-07 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, v v good, if you completely inore that it came pretty much out of nowhere, with the super duper tinge of hai thar yes I've just met you but you have a dick so clearly you're the worthy partner I've been longing for never you mind this chick I grew up with who also happens to be a mutant(one I've known basically my entire life) and oh yeah she's the same age I am but we'll just leave her here at the kid's table with the other new recruits it's not like she's all that useful she's a woman ha ha and that way you and I can gallivant around and have our manly special bonding time and when we get home we can have every single woman choose between us/be validated by us/in every way be inferior aspect of it all.

/one track record

I am now basically on Team Logan, aka the Go Fuck Yourself Team.

[identity profile] mrstotten.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Is Raven the same age, I took it she was younger, but that might have been just me, and yes, will admit the women were massively overlooked in this, but that has unfortunately been a predominant force through all of the Xmen films (Jean was all powerful, but still the fodder between two males, Rogue gave it all up for the man who was looking at the girl who could walk through walls who ignore her own special talent to gaze adoringly at him (bad Ellen, bad), Storm was barely mentioned and of course was yet another woman who had a crush on/was secretly in love with Logan. Probably my least favourite part was their treatment of Emma Frost who is so much more than they allowed her to be in this film. But have to admit as I have been a Charles/Erik fan for like FOREVER I was too happy to see their back story to pay attention to the story fail! Also pretty annoyed at the Darwin thing, you CANT KILL DARWIN THAT IS KIND OF THE POINT OF HIS POWER YOU MORONS!!!! /rant

But yeah I have kind of stopped expecting my comic book films to give me the awesome females the comic can *cough* Catwoman *cough*

I haven't read much X-Men, just a couple of Wolverine stand alones(my brother's a huuuge fan) and then Whedon's arch, in which Frost was by far the most compelling bit. I have a post bookmarked with links to a bunch of comics strongly featuring her and not being full of fail that I plan on getting to :) NONO THE POINT OF DARWIN WAS THAT HE'S BLACK. DUH.

Well to be honest I don't see how it could deviate all that much from what's on screen(though there's always the 'Kato tries to make different kind of sleep gas and the compound has weird side-effects. Queue tripped out shenaneries). And since you've seen it already may I ask why you haven't jumped up and down in text format?

[identity profile] just-ruth.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I consider the chess games between Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian to be some of the sexiest things I've seen that aren't even sex. Relationship up to the nines - and I do NOT have slash goggles at all.

[identity profile] mander3-swish.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw Xmen on Friday...I just KNEW!!! people would get all slashy over all of the erik/charles scenes...seriously, i was glad nobody could see my thought bubbles! but seriously, they coulda started making out and nobody would have been surprised! ;)
gawd and James' eyes in that beach scene...swoon!
And the actor who plays Erik....swoon! he's like classic hollywood...now i really need to see Jane Eyre since he plays mr.Rochester!

[identity profile] luveskane.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I missed your other post, which I just went and read :(

Im so sorry that happened to you. Not only have you lost these rings that are precious to you but you have now also lost faith and trust in all these people which is just sad.

[identity profile] dreamersdare.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, are you basically implying to me here that this film is bad but slashy? Because that would make me sad in my face :( Almost as sad as the clusterfuck that was X3 did...

James McAvoy is pretty though

[identity profile] mrstotten.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It is not bad perse but does have quite a few Fail!! moments. (Emma Frost and Darwin being two of the biggest ones) but it does have its moments and to be fair, as someone who has waited on Charles/Erik backstory since like FOREVER to me it was gold
