Castiel has never been good at expressing human emotions. Hence the human part.
But that didn't mean he didn't want to. For Dean, at least. There was something about Dean that brought out the most hidden parts of Castiel. Something even he couldn't understand. And so he found himself at Dean's door. Or the motel's door. Details. In one hand he carried pie and in the other, well the other was maybe shaking. Maybe. This wasn't something angels did everyday, you know?
He knocked, before he saw reason and left. Dean didn't answer the door. Sam did.
Their eyes met and Sam laughed. "Dude," he barely managed to get out between laughs. "What are you wearing?" Castiel frowned. "I thought it was customary to wear ornamental clothing during the holiday season." That's what the lady at the store had said. Sam let out another burst of laugher. "One thing is dressing for the holidays, but this? You're like a christmas tree!" Castiel was quite sure that if he had any feelings, they would be very hurt.
"What's with the-" Of course Dean had to show up. He stared at Castiel with wide eyes. It was almost funny, if not for the fact that he was the one being stared at. "Dean, I-" Before Castiel could finish his sentence, Dean was full on laughing. Face turning an unnatural red color by human standards. Castiel was not going to pout. This is what he gets for trying to celebrate the holidays.
"I brought pie," he finally whispers. He says it in that small voice, the one that says I'm about to start sobbing like a baby so you better shut up. That one. Sam stopped laughing. The same couldn't be said about Dean.
