(no subject)

There are days when I sometimes wonder what I did to deserve such lovely people in my life, when I realise just what a gift lj has given me. Lj is more than just a social networking site, I have a few of those, Facebook, twitter etc. But it is lj that I come to when I want to share my squee, my stories, my writings and my life. Funnily enough lj is also the only place where I have no friends and family added, and in a way it allows me to be more open than anywhere else. I don't have to worry about whether my boss will think I'm slacking by posting midday, what my best friends growing up think of the things I write, or even whether my mother will see me curse, and in a way that frees me more than anything else.

I came to lj to find fandoms and instead I found a home, with a family that I had never even realised I was missing, not one that replaced my own but one that enhanced it. I met my two wifey's here Becks and V, my fellow goddesses Miri and Sandi, Sosie and Kat and Molly. I met my sister from another fandom mother Margareth, my mind meld twin the lovely Ames, I became first a stalker and then a friend to the lovely Laura and when I want to be mocked mercilessly there is crazy cousin Emily, also known as Nat, there is my favourite little sister Bekah who I still miss terribly as I don't see often enough and there is my sister in squee Juney. Then there is my family of mods Laura (again yes you are that special), the epic Jess, the lovely Helen and the sweet, wonderful Ruth who prompted this post by sending me the loveliest of lovely gifts for my little boy, which he will LOVE especially the colour orange it is his favourite. When I opened it tonight I wanted to cry in a good way of course. It will never fail to make me smile every time I realise how many special gifts lj has given me.

Then of course there are the new friends I have made, the people who share my fandom squee, who realise how much I love certain characters the lovely qaf girls I've recently made the acquaintance of, the people who woke up this morning happier cos yay show had been renewed. The people who grieve with me over the cancelling of shows like TSCC and firefly, who hear the word squee and don't think I'm crazy who understand that ten was better than nine but eleven is winning us over, who realise that the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42

So thank you to everyone on my flist, I may not always comment, I may neglect to update you sometimes nut trust me I never forget you

(Ruth you are getting your own post cos you are that awesome)

LOVE IN :)

Wait a sec... you're in Scotland? I hadn't realized until I saw Rena's post.

It's no wonder why I gravitated toward your posts. My favorite things in the World are:
Ewan McGregor
David Tennant
James McAvoy
JK Rowling (who lives there)
The Outlander book series by Diana Gabaldon
Mike Myers' sketch on Saturday Night Live "If it's not Scottish, it's crap!" LOL My kids even say that! I have them well trained.

It was destiny...

Okay, sorry for that, but I have to agree that Scotland is awesome ♥ We spent our honeymoon there and fell in love with the country. Have returned often over the years and plan to never stop. Also, I personally really have a thing for sexy men in kilts *grins*

Jamie and Claire are true love forever and ever, even though Diana Gabaldon and her stance on ff annoys the crap out of me I will always always ALWAYS love Lord John and Jamie/Claire!!!

Where did you honeymoon hon?

Oh nice, all dressed up in formal kilt! And who's the cutie in between? :))) For our honeymoon we were sort of all over the place, we had 4 1/2 weeks to spend and tried to see as much as we could. We did part of the West Highland Way, the West Coast and Highlands, Skye, Isle of Lewis, the Shetlands, the Great Glen, Inverness, some of the Whisky Trail (yum!), Aberdeen... yes, I think that was it. Our other trips were all much shorter and mostly in the West Coast, Skye and Highlands area too. Oh, and our most favorite spot where we always try to visit is Glen Affric near Loch Ness, it's so beautiful there. And to believe that this summer we'll have our 20th wedding anniversary? That's sort of incredible ;)

That sounds so amazing and yes there are so many beautiful places to see in Scotland, there is never enough time and yes that is my hubby and brother on my wedding day and the little boy in the middle believe it or not is my brother in law Kieran :D

You have a really cute brother in law ;))) But sometimes the age differences between relatives can be amazing, my husband also has some cousins that are a lot younger than our own childen :D
